Zeek Taylor is known for his stylized watercolors. Primarily using a dry brush technique,
he is able to achieve intricate detail not often found in this medium. He favors
transparent paint but sometimes combines the use of gouache and metallic ink in the
same painting. Work is done on acid-free clayboard; a white clay-coated masonite
panel which has greater strength and longevity than paper. Each piece is surrounded by
a meticulously hand-rendered border. Subject matter includes florals, still life, animals,
and fantasy themes.

Taylor studied painting at Arkansas State University, Washington University, and the
Memphis College of Art. A former art teacher, he now resides and maintains a studio in
Eureka Springs, AR. An avid gardener, his love of flowers is evident in his work. One
reviewer stated, "only an expert watercolorist can give such full buoyancy to florals". He
has been described as a colorist with a keen sense of pattern. Years of perfecting a
unique style of painting has made each piece recognized as a "Zeek Taylor".
An award winning artist, Taylor has been the subject of many one-man-exhibits and
juried shows. His images have been distributed worldwide as limited-edition prints by
several companies including the Franklin Company of Chicago.

"I consider it a compliment when my work is described as beautiful or even as "pretty".
Portraying beauty is my pleasure and my reward'" Zeek Taylor
