Upon retiring from Wal-Mart after 22 years, I had three goals: 1) take a Bible Study course; 2) take pottery classes; and 3) clean out my closets. Thank goodness I've been enjoying two of the three…the closets will always be there! Seven years ago, I began taking pottery classes from Master Potter Jim Young. Starting with pinch pots, slab work, and moving to wheel throwing, I have learned something new during each class. Most of my work now is throwing clay on the potter's wheel and then altering the piece or adding to it. Currently I'm making "Razorback" teapots (each with a little different "personality") and am creating desk-top fountains with a "Tuscan" flair. I am blessed with three great children, a wonderful family and many great friends. I am thankful to have this opportunity to share my pottery with you. |
