Sandy Brust currently resides with her husband, Tim, in Rogers. She has two married
sons and five grandchildren. Michael, her oldest son, is an electrician for the Pine Bluff
Arsenal. Joshua, her youngest, is a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force and is stationed at
Little Rock Air Force Base where he is preparing for his third deployment to Iraq.

In 1995, Tim & Sandy moved back to Northwest Arkansas after living in Missouri for
seven years. An ad in the paper caught Sandy's attention and she followed a lifelong
dream of learning pottery by taking lessons at Terra Studios. The next year she began
taking classes through the continuing education program at the University of Arkansas
where she studied under Norris Dalton for three years.

When she felt she had gone as far as she could with the CE program, a fellow student
suggested that she contact Jim Young at Van Hollow Pottery, and the rest, as they say,
is history. Under Jim's tutelage, Sandy began to find the artist within and has developed
a style of her own. She has found that Horsehair Raku has a magic of its own and it is
this particular process that fulfills her the most.

Currently, Sandy is in the process of building her own studio and hopes to continue to
develop a line of mid-fire functional ware. In the meantime, she's content to watch the
magic as the horsehair ignites and dances on the pot.
