Cresswell is a self-taught artist, who after almost 30 years of painting decided to
pursue her art professionally in late 2004. Her home in Northwest Arkansas provides
a great deal of inspiration for her landscape paintings while most of her still
life pieces are inspired by memories or treasured items handed down through
generations of her family. Her passion for painting is evident in the number or pieces
she has produced over the last two years. She also lends her talents to public
schools giving demonstrations to students. She has exhibited in several solo and
group shows and her work has been accepted in juried competitions. She was
awarded Top award in the 27the Ozark Art Alliance Exhibit, 2007. Her work is held
in many private collections across the country as well as a few corporate collections.

Cresswell is a member of the Arkansas Artists Registry, The Artists of Northwest
Arkansas, The Center for Art and Education, The Fort Smith Art Center, The Sager
Creek Art Center and The Bend of the River Arts Council.

Cresswell`s paintings evoke a sense of familiarity and security that speaks to the
viewer of "Home". She says, "I paint for myself and hope that others see and feel the
same beauty that I do in the piece. Someone asked me to paint bunnies because
they were popular and would sell. But, I couldn't do it because my art is in my heart. If
I can't feel it in some way, be touched by the beauty of a shadow cast upon an object
or a ray of sunlight shining through a window and gleaming across the room, then
there is no art. I want to draw the viewer in, make them feel at home or bring back a
fond memory, or just bring them peace in some way. I'm just not a commercial type
artist."
