Born and raised in Silver lake, an Artist's community in Los Angeles, into a family of artistic minds, Joyce pursued her passion of Fashion and Design. She learned to sew at 9years old - by the age 11 was making her own patterns. That was the beginning of 25 years as a Fashion Designer in the Los Angeles Garment Industry. Designing from Swimwear to Disney Costumes to Bullet Proof Vests and shipping from Disney worldwide and Wal-Mart to the F.B.I. and Foreign Armies, her designs were shipped all over the world. At the origination of all of these designs was pencil sketching, Joyce's favorite medium, and a passion for animals. Joyce's love of drawing came to life after moving to Northwest Arkansas several years ago. The character signature that you see on each piece of art was created by her Mother, Joyce. It spells out the name they share in a stick figure - "J" is the umbrella - "O" is the head - "Y" is the body and legs - "C" is the right arm and "E" is the left arm.
