Johnny has always had a natural artistic talent and love for the arts since a very young age. In fact, as a child he was awarded 3rd place in a national poster contest. His Grandmother, Glayds Prince, was an oil painter and a big inspiration for him. Since art was not a regular part of the school curriculum in the small town of Cushing , OK where he grew up, he became very involved with music but still always had some type of art project in the works on the side. He played the violin and oboe in school and was the drum major during the marching season. Johnny received his formal art education from OSU in Stillwater, OK . At college he had the honor of a one-man exhibit of 17 watercolors. He also won the 1st place Southwestern Journalism Congress. award for photography. After graduation, Johnny went to work as an artist for Wal-Mart Home-Office Advertising Department in Bentonville. He remained with Wal-Mart for 25 years. In the next chapter of his life, Johnny would like to devote his time to what he enjoys most, his passion for painting and sharing his work with others. Johnny just won First Place in the Art Walk this Year. E-mail: j_ware@cox.net Web Site: |
