My passion for art started at an early age when I won a drawing contest in 4th grade. My love for nature began early too. I grew up in Baraboo, Wisconsin and spent countless hours camping, hiking, bird watching, and hunting in my youth. My love for nature expanded into a B.S. in Biology from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. I picked up the camera in 1999 when living in Madison, Wisconsin. I was hooked. I’m a self-taught nature photographer, and I use film cameras. I moved to Northwest Arkansas in the fall of 2002. The natural beauty of Arkansas has captured me. The landscapes, plants, rock formations, streams, waterfalls, and the western sunset all have inspired me to keep taking pictures. I hope to bring the moments of beauty found in nature to the general public through my art. I decided to start painting in 2005. I’m new at this medium of art and I love it! I enjoy painting abstracts of nature and impressionism. My goal is to have my art bring people closer to our natural environment |
