An infectious energy level spiced with lots of creativity is the essence of Brenda
Laney. A California native, Brenda has lived in Arkansas for most ofthe past forty
years. Brenda is enjoying the new freedoms that have been afforded her with having
her seven children reaching adulthood. Pursuingexcellence in the quality of he
artistic expression is her passion. "I want people to feel moved by deep emotion
when viewing my paintings withoutbeing distracted by lack of quality. I feel that an
artist should be moved spiritually with the subject matter but also pursue excellence
in the application of paint." Unable to pursue a formal education in art, Brenda has
studied under wonderful artists such as; Dan Gerhertz, Stephen Quiller, Richard
Stephens, Todd Williams, Tim Tyler, and Charles Harrington. She travels with her
husband of 33 years to Europe, Central America, and the United States.

Artist statement- Brenda Laney

Drawing closer to God and understanding Him better through the study of creation, is
my motivation. I strive to communicate to others God's truthand love for mankind. It is
my desire to interpret on canvas the beauty of creation that glorifies God. Painting is
a wonderful outlet that allows me to express more clearly my innermost love for Him.
