Awilda Santiago-Wilson
Dr. Awilda Santiago-Wilson was born on the island of Puerto Rico and grew up in New York City. After serving 5 years in the U.S. Army she made California her home. While in California she furthered her education earning a nursing degree followed by her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. An aggravation of a military injury forced her to retire early after 18 years of practice. She looked for a hands-on hobby that allowed her to express her creativity and finally discovered woodturning in 2004. Since that time it has become her passion resulting in her winning several awards for her turnings.
Awilda and her family relocated to Rogers, Arkansas in 2008 and is a member of the Stateline Woodturners Group in addition to the American Association of Woodturners. She enjoys turning art pieces in addition to utilitarian pieces for the home. Recently her husband Rick has been bitten by the woodturning bug and they now share their hobby trading ideas and tips.
