Stephen Ironside

I am an amateur photographer from Fayetteville, Arkansas, as well as a full time student at the University of Arkansas. Though I have had no formal training, photography is my passion and what I hope to be my career in the future. My work has been published in and featured on the cover of the Fayetteville High School Literary Magazine Connotations, Volumes XXII and XXIII, respectively. I am a staff photographer for The Arkansas Traveler and I have displayed a number of photographs at Art Amiss VII and VIII. I won first place in a photo contest judged by renowned photographer Tim Ernst, as well as first place in the 2008 University of Arkansas Study Abroad Photo Contest. The latter was taken during a semester of study in India and Nepal the Fall 2008 semester. The next semester, Spring 2009, I honed my wildlife/landscape skills in Costa Rica while doing research in tropical biology. Although I gained a great deal of experience during my travels, I love spending time traveling in and photographing the wilds of Arkansas. I also photograph weddings for Stone Ridge Photographers, am a member of the North American Nature Photography Association and Wedding and Portrait Photographers International, and display at Poor Richard's Art gallery in Rogers, AR.
