John Murdoch

I have been working on some images from the last 5+ years and would like to share a few of my favorites with you. I like outdoor photography, but the last few years, still-life has become a passionate, therapeutic and extremely relaxing quest of mine.

I use cameras as well as couple of homemade "digital capture" devices. My mother and grandmother were florists, and I know they influenced me with the idea of using arrangements to reflect color and light. And if you are lucky enough to see it, or in this case, capture it, then you might feel what the "arranger" had in mind. I try to place subjects in front of the capture devices and let things happen. Dark backgrounds allow the subject matter to take center stage. Giclée prints are on archival grade Hahnemuehle 308 Photo Rag 100% acid-free cotton paper and museum grade mats. Canvas prints are available for some of my images. All prints Have additional layers of UV protective coating. Prints should stay true and last for generations. I hope you see something that brightens your day or at least makes you smile. I hope so.
