"Going to Pieces" My love for color began in my childhood while living in the Panhandle of West Texas. Living so close to the New Mexico border, I studied vivid tones of red and turquoise splashed within a mosaic. As a child I craved opportunities to sit and create in various forms of artwork. It is no wonder why Eric Carle's work became a favorite to this day. Though always participating in some form of artwork, I achieved several successes as a vocalist along the way. I was one of 5 soloists to tour with the U.S. National chorus overseas through out eight European countries, as well as perform in front of 20,000 people, singing for George Bush, Sr. and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar. I had theprivilege of singing for the Little Rock Wind Symphony. I continue my love for singing in a prison ministry close to my heart with my wonderful husband Eddie, and our precious children Kara and Haid. Through the path of life, I dove head first into a love for glass in the form of mosaics. It is my childhood dreams, mixed with the grace of God that gave me the inspiration to create in glass. As a graduate of JBU, I enjoy my days living on a large cattle ranch where I am the office manager, along with my husband who is the herd manager. I relish the time I have in my studio to devote hours towards my mosaics! |
